Privacy Policy

Ledgend ("we") provides books quality-control software for accounting firms. This policy describes what we collect, why, and your choices. Our customers are accounting firms; each firm controls the client accounting data it connects.

What we collect

Account data: names, work email addresses, and password hashes for firm users. Connected accounting data: when a firm authorizes a QuickBooks Online connection, we read the ledger — chart of accounts, vendors, customers, transactions, and financial reports — to perform the analysis the firm requested. Usage and audit data: actions taken in the product, kept as an audit trail for the firm. Billing data: payment is processed by Stripe; card details never touch our servers.

How we use it

Solely to provide the service to the firm: syncing ledgers, running diagnostics, tracking reconciliations, and producing the firm's dashboards. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use one firm's client data to serve another firm.

QuickBooks connection

Access is granted via Intuit's OAuth flow and can be revoked at any time from QuickBooks or from Ledgend. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM). We access only the accounting scope authorized by the firm.

Storage and security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and hosted with reputable cloud infrastructure providers in the United States. Access within a firm is role-based; staff see only the clients assigned to them. Every data-changing action is recorded in an audit log.

Retention and deletion

We retain data while the firm's account is active. On written request from a firm owner (support@theledgend.com), we delete the firm's data, including synced client ledgers, within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or billing compliance.

Third parties

We share data only with processors needed to run the service (hosting, database, Stripe for billing, Intuit for the QuickBooks connection), each bound to use it only on our instructions.

Your choices

Firm owners can disconnect any QuickBooks company, deactivate users, export their data, or close the account at any time. Questions or requests: support@theledgend.com.
